What is actually included in a branding engagement?

A branding engagement at The Newton Agency includes strategy, creative direction, a full identity and logo suite, brand guidelines, a Brand Command Center, up to three collateral applications, a website, and the files and rights to use all of it. It runs four to eight months and costs $18,000 to $60,000. Here is everything included in a branding engagement with us, in the order you receive it, plus what sits outside it, so nothing comes as a surprise.
Strategy, starting with the Guided Brand Strategy™
Every engagement begins with the Guided Brand Strategy™, a private workspace where you answer the questions a strong brand is built on: who it's for, what you believe, what you refuse to do, what someone should feel when they meet you. You work through it on your own time, which gets far better answers than a three-hour meeting. When your idea doesn't fit a standard mold, we customize the workspace around it.
From your answers we build the strategy: positioning, audience, voice, messaging, and a creative brief that every later decision answers to. You keep the Strategic Foundation, and it's yours to take anywhere.
Creative direction and three concepts
Before any logo exists, we set the creative direction. That's the mood, the references, the world the brand lives in. Then we present three distinct concepts. Each one is a whole idea, with its own logic from the mark to the color to the image style. You choose one to take forward.
The identity
The chosen direction becomes a full identity system. That includes a complete logo suite with primary, secondary, and alternate versions for everything from a storefront sign to a favicon, plus typography, a color system, visual language, branding graphics, and image direction. This is the system that makes a brand recognizable at a glance and consistent everywhere it shows up.
Brand guidelines and the Brand Command Center
You get brand guidelines that document how the identity works and how to use it. You also get something most studios don't make: a Brand Command Center. It's a founder-facing dashboard built for your company that holds your positioning, mission, messaging, descriptions, keywords, content prompts, hooks, platform ideas, important links, and product information in one place. A PDF gets filed and forgotten. The Command Center is where you go on a Tuesday when you need a caption, a product description, or the right shade of green.
Up to three collateral applications
The identity is then applied to up to three priority pieces, fully designed and production-ready. For a restaurant that might be the menu, the signage, and takeout packaging. For a product brand, a label, a shipper box, and a pitch deck. Each one is built from the identity and delivered with the specs your printer or manufacturer needs. You can add more pieces at additional cost, and most founders add the rest later through DESIGNFLOW™.
The website
The website is included, and it's built after the brand is complete so it's designed from the brand outward. We work most often in Wix Studio and Shopify. The site comes with a responsive design, a custom visual asset library, CMS handoff, and basic SEO setup. More detail is on our branding page.
Handoff, rights, and support
At the end you receive every file, organized and labeled, with commercial use rights to the approved work. Branding assets transfer to you outright. We also stay on for 30 days of implementation support, so the first print run, the first launch post, and the first week of the website don't happen without us.
What isn't included in a branding engagement
Some work sits outside the standard scope because it varies so much from project to project. That includes naming, concept development for ideas that aren't formed yet, photo and video editing, large packaging families, custom artwork beyond what the identity needs, full launch programs, and ongoing content. All of it can be added to your proposal, and ongoing creative work after launch is what DESIGNFLOW™ exists for.
Revisions and payment
You get three rounds of revisions at creative direction and three on collateral. Additional rounds are billed at an agreed rate, and they add time as well as cost. Payment typically starts with a 50 percent deposit, with the balance split into gates tied to milestones, paid by ACH through Stripe. The full details are in our FAQ.
Why we publish the list
Most agencies keep their scope vague until the proposal. We'd rather you know what you're buying before we ever talk. A clear list keeps the project on time, keeps the budget where you set it, and lets both of us spend our energy on the work itself.
See it for your brand
If you'd like to know where your project lands inside the $18,000 to $60,000 range, book a 30-minute call. We'll scope it together and send a written proposal with every deliverable named.
